Annual Elevator Safety Testing
In Wisconsin, elevators are required to undergo annual safety testing.
Elevator Services, LLC is your licensed partner to conduct these tests and ensure your elevator is operating safely and according to code.
Elevator Services will conduct the testing and complete all the required paperwork to be submitted to your inspection company on your behalf.
Elevator Inspection Requirements:
All Comercial Elevators
All elevators, except those serving single-dwelling units, must be inspected annually.
Licensed Elevator Company
Elevators must be tested annually by a licensed elevator company. Traction elevators also require a full load safety test every five years.
The Testing Process
Tests involve a visual inspection and testing of safety-related devices.
Conveyances
The term "conveyances" includes elevators, dumbwaiters, Type B material lifts, escalators, vertical and inclined platform lifts, and stairway chairlifts.
Permit to Operate
A permit to operate is issued for code-compliant units after a successful safety test and inspection.
